How to define and build custom links within the platform.
The process for assigning a link as a "Featured Item" on your homepage.
Best practices for external linking to maintain guest conversion.
Use this process whenever you want to spotlight a specific promotion, a new product category, or an external service (such as your Gifted voucher site) directly on your storefront's homepage.
Key Logic:
A Featured Item acts as a high-visibility billboard on your landing page. By creating a dedicated link first, you ensure that the "click" takes the guest exactly where you want them to go, whether that is a specific spa day or an entirely different website.
Have the destination URL ready (the web address you want the guest to land on).
Ensure you have "Content" level access to the Ecommerce platform.
If linking to an external site, decide if you want the guest to leave your storefront or open a new window.
Before you can feature an item, the platform must know where that item points to.
Log in to the Ecommerce platform.
Go to Products & Service → Content → Links.
Click Create a Link.
Complete all required fields, including the Link Name (for admin use) and the URL.
Option A (External Site): If linking to an external site like Gifted, select New Tab in the settings. This ensures the guest can return to their booking journey easily.
Option B (Internal Site): If linking to another part of your storefront, you can select Same Tab.
Click Save to store the link in your library.
Now that the link exists, you must tell the homepage to display it.
Navigate to Products & Service → Content → Homepage.
Scroll down until you reach the Featured Item section.
Use the dropdown menu to select the link you created in Part 1.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit.
Open your live storefront in a new tab to confirm the featured item appears and functions as expected.
Descriptive Labels: When creating your link, use clear, action-oriented language for the button text (e.g., "Buy Vouchers" or "Book Now") to drive higher click-through rates.
The Conversion Trap: Always ensure external links are set to open in a New Tab. If you force a guest to leave the storefront in the middle of a booking journey to buy a voucher, they may not find their way back to complete their room reservation.
