How to change the call to action buttons

How to Change the Call to Action (CTA) Buttons

⏱ Estimated time: 3 minutes

👤 Role: Marketing Managers, Ecommerce Administrators, Content Editors

What you'll learn:

  • How to locate the navigation settings in the Ecommerce platform.

  • The steps required to rename the primary Call to Action (CTA) buttons.

  • How to ensure your storefront labels and side menu items remain consistent.

When should I use this?

Use this process whenever you need to align the primary navigation labels of your storefront with your specific brand language or seasonal marketing campaigns.

Key Logic:

Call to Action buttons are the primary entry points for your guests. Customising these allows you to be more descriptive (e.g., changing "Rooms" to "Rooms & Suites") or more emotive (e.g., changing "Spa" to "Wellness Retreats"), which can improve click-through rates and guest conversion.

Before you start:

  • Ensure you have "Content" or "Admin" level permissions for the Ecommerce platform.

  • Decide on your new labels in advance to ensure they fit within the standard button dimensions on mobile and desktop views.

Step-by-step:

1. Navigate to the Navigation Settings

All primary storefront labels are managed within a centralised navigation area to ensure consistency across the site.

  1. Log in to your Ecommerce platform.

  2. Under the Products & Services heading in the sidebar, select Content.

  3. Click on Navigation.

2. Update the Button Text

The Navigation page displays the current labels for all active modules on your storefront.

  1. Locate the text boxes associated with each primary category (e.g., Rooms, Spa, Events, Gift Vouchers).

  2. Delete the existing text and type your new label into the box (e.g., "Luxury Suites" or "Spa & Beauty").

  3. Important: Keep labels concise to ensure they display correctly on smaller mobile screens.

3. Save and Verify Changes

Changes in the Ecommerce platform do not "Auto-Save," so manual confirmation is required.

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the Navigation page.

  2. Click the Submit button to commit your changes.

  3. Open your live storefront in a new tab and refresh the page to view the updated buttons and menu text.

Best practice:

Check the Side Menu: Remember that updates made here apply to both the large homepage buttons and the text links in your side or top navigation menu. Always check both areas after an update to ensure the flow feels natural to the guest.

Important Notice:

Don't forget to Submit: Changes will not be cached or saved if you navigate away from the page without clicking Submit. If you refresh the storefront and don't see your changes, return to the Navigation tab and ensure the Submit button was successfully pressed.
