How to Edit Your Homepage

⏱ Estimated time: 5 minutes

👤 Role: Marketing Managers, Content Editors, Brand Managers

What you'll learn:

  • How to access and navigate the Homepage editor.

  • Steps to update your Hero Title and main brand imagery.

  • How to select and display Featured Items and Retail products.

  • Understanding which fields are currently active on the storefront.

When should I use this?

Use this guide whenever you need to refresh the look and feel of your storefront. This is particularly useful for seasonal updates (e.g., Summer vs. Winter imagery), launching new brand taglines, or promoting specific retail products on your landing page.

Key Logic:

The homepage is your digital front door. Keeping the imagery and featured products current ensures that returning guests see a dynamic, well-managed property, which increases trust and booking intent.

Before you start:

  • Prepare a high-quality Hero Image (ideally landscape and professional photography).

  • Decide on a concise Hero Title (maximum 5–7 words for best visual impact).

  • Ensure any Retail products you wish to feature are already created and "Active" in the platform.

Step-by-step:

1. Access the Homepage Editor

The homepage settings are centralised within the Content module.

  1. Log in to the Ecommerce platform.

  2. Under the Products & Service heading in the sidebar, click Content.

  3. From the sub-menu that appears, select Homepage.

2. Update the Hero Title and Imagery

The "Hero" section is the first thing a guest sees before they even begin a search.

  1. Hero Title: Locate the Hero Title field and enter your headline (e.g., "A better way to stay"). This appears directly above the search bar on the storefront.

  2. Hero Image: Scroll down to the image section and click Upload File. Choose a high-resolution file from your computer.

  3. Important Note: The "Hero Pre-header" and "Summary" fields are currently placeholders and do not populate on the live storefront; you can leave these blank.

Featured items are used to drive traffic to specific external links, such as your Gifted voucher site or a promotional landing page.

  1. Locate the Featured Item section.

  2. Use the drop-down list to select a pre-configured link you wish to highlight.

  3. These typically appear as prominent banners or call-outs on the homepage.

You can showcase specific physical products to encourage retail sales alongside room or spa bookings.

  1. Scroll to the Products heading.

  2. Click the Products drop-down list.

  3. Select up to 8 retail products to showcase. These will be displayed in a dedicated gallery section on the homepage.

  4. Click Submit at the bottom of the page to save all your homepage changes.

Best practice:

Mobile Aspect Ratio: When choosing a Hero Image, remember that the centre of the image is usually what remains visible on mobile devices. Ensure the "action" or "focus" of your photo is centrally aligned to avoid awkward cropping on smartphones.

Important Notice:

Save Your Work: Like all content sections in the platform, changes to the Hero Title, Images, or Featured Products will not go live until you click the Submit button at the very bottom of the page. Always refresh your live storefront after saving to verify the layout.
