How to connect your Stripe Payment terminals for integrated transaction processing.
Use this guide when you need to segment your revenue streams or isolate transactions for distinct business units during the end-of-day cash up process. Sales Channels (which were previously referred to as Tills) allow you to track financial performance by department and are ultimately allocated to specific physical PC locations.
Important Notice: If you use integrated payment hardware or virtual terminals, ensuring the correct Stripe Account ID is assigned during this setup is critical for matching your physical transactions with your digital ledger.
Ensure you have administrative privileges to access the Settings menu.
Confirm the exact naming convention your business uses for department cash ups.
If applicable, have your Stripe Account ID ready for virtual or physical terminal integration.
Log into the platform and go to the Settings menu. Look under the General sub-heading and select Sales Channels.
Click the + Add Sales Channel button in the top right of the screen to open the configuration form.
Enter a clear, descriptive name for the channel in the name field (for example, Spa Sales Channel or Leisure Sales Channel). This ensures accurate reporting during financial reconciliation.
If your business operates across multiple locations, select the relevant property from the Site dropdown menu. If you are a single-site business, this will default to your primary location.
If you have Stripe Payments enabled for Virtual Terminals or Physical Terminals, locate the integration field and enter your unique Stripe Account ID. This links your physical card readers directly to this financial stream.
Click Save to create the new channel.
Once saved, ensure you allocate this new Sales Channel to the designated physical PC locations or workstations across your property so staff can begin processing transactions.
Consistent Naming: Match your Sales Channel names exactly with your accounting departments to keep financial reporting clean and straightforward.
Terminal Verification: Always run a small test transaction if you linked a Stripe Account ID to ensure the physical terminal communicates correctly before going live.
