Ecommerce Platform | Creating a new restaurant

Please follow this article if you have either:
  1. Created a new restaurant within ResDiary or SevernRooms that you would like to show online, or,
  2. Would like to display multiple "restaurants" on your storefront from a single restaurant within your third-party system.

Setup:

  • Log into our ecommerce platform.

  • Under the Products & Service heading click on Tables and then Restaurants from the drop-down menu

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the 'Create a Configuration' button.

  • The 'Create a Restaurant' page will then load, and present you with the required fields to get your restaurant live.

  • Enter the name of the restaurant - this is the name that will show on your storefront.

  • In the Restaurant drop-down, select the API that this restaurant is linked to. This can either be your new restaurant, or one you already have live if you are creating a new configuration on your storefront for the same restaurant (e.g. for just your Sunday Dinner promotion).

    • For ResDiary: If there is a restaurant that doesn't appear on our list then please contact the ResDiary support team.

    • For SevernRooms: If there is a restaurant that doesn't appear on our list then please let our support team know and we can provide further recommendations.

  • Add a brief description of the restaurant.

  • Upload an image (JPG or PNG) for the restaurant, either by clicking on the 'Upload an image' button or dragging the image onto the upload file button. The uploaded images will display on your Tables page and when you have added an a booking for this restaurant to the basket, as shown below:

  • Add your opening and closing times.

  • If you have your menu(s) ready you can upload these now using the 'Add menu' button.

  • Click on the 'Create Restaurant Config' button.

  • Open your site's storefront, click on the burger menu and go through to our 'Dining' option. You should be able to see your new restaurant available.

Important notes:

  1. If you are creating multiple "restaurants" on your storefront from one restaurant in ResDiary/SevernRooms, then it is worth noting that you can only limit each restaurant in our platform by time.
    1. For example, you could create one for lunch and one for Dinner. If in our platform, the 'restaurants' times don't overlap then they will always show their retrospective menu's.
    2. However, if you are creating one called 'Afternoon Tea', we can't limit other promotions/menu's showing within this same window of time. So guest's may be able to see both Afternoon Tea and Lunch available at your 'afternoon tea restaurant;.
