How to request the activation of a new language for your storefront.
The required next steps once a language has been enabled.
Refer to this guide if you are looking to expand your digital reach to international markets. Enabling additional languages allows guests to toggle their preferred language on your storefront, creating a localised booking experience that improves trust and increases conversion for non-English speaking guests.
Key Logic:
The platform is designed to be multilingual, but languages are not enabled by default to keep your admin interface clean. By selecting only the languages relevant to your key demographics, you can manage your international content more efficiently.
Identify which languages represent your highest volume of international visitors.
Ensure you have a plan for translating your unique content (Room descriptions, Spa packages, etc.), as the platform provides the framework but not the translated copy itself.
The Ecommerce storefront currently supports the following languages:
English (Default)
French
German
Spanish
Polish
Russian
Portuguese
Italian
Dutch
Because language activation affects the structure of your storefront and backend, it must be enabled by the Support team.
Send an email to support@journey.travel or contact us via live chat.
Specify your Property Name and list the Language(s) you wish to activate.
Our team will update your property configuration. You will receive a confirmation once the language toggle is available on your storefront.
Activating the language only provides the "containers" for your content. You must now populate them.
Once confirmed, log in to your platform.
You will notice new language tabs/fields within your products and content sections.
You must manually add the translated text for every room, rate, spa treatment, and retail item available.
Important: If you do not add translations, those sections may appear blank or default to English for the guest.
Start with the Essentials: If you have a large inventory, prioritize translating your most popular "Hero" products and your primary Navigation buttons first. This ensures the most common guest journeys are localized immediately.
One-Time Setup: Once a language is activated, it is a permanent addition to your site structure. Ensure you have the resources to maintain these translations whenever you add new products or change your seasonal pricing/packages.
