When should I use this?

Use this guide when a guest or walk-in customer is purchasing retail items, gift items, or miscellaneous products without an existing booking.

Before you start

  • Ensure the correct products are available in your inventory

  • Confirm pricing with the guest before taking payment

  • If linking the sale to a client, ensure their profile already exists in the system

Step-by-step: Completing a retail or ad-hoc sale

1. Open the EPOS till

  • Navigate to Retail from the navigation menu

This will launch the EPOS till screen.

If you would like to record the sale against a specific client:

  • Click Search for Client

  • Locate and select the required client profile

💡 Note: The client must already exist in the system.

If no client is selected, the sale will proceed as an anonymous transaction.

3. Add items to the bill

Use the EPOS till buttons to select items for sale:

  • Stock Item
Search your retail inventory and select items to sell. You can also scan a barcode to quickly locate products.

  • Misc Items
Select miscellaneous products such as slippers, membership card fees, food and drink, or other non-stock items.

You can also use the search bar at the top of the screen to quickly find items by name.

As items are selected, they will appear on the bill summary.

4. Take payment

  • Review the bill total

  • Select the required payment method from the options on the left-hand side

  • Complete the transaction

If multiple payment methods are required, process each until the balance is fully cleared.

Sale complete ✅

Once payment has been successfully processed:

  • The transaction is finalised

  • You can close the EPOS screen

  • You will return to the diary view
