Gifted | Enabling Email Notifications for New Orders

Gifted | Enabling Email Notifications for New Orders

⏱️ Estimated time: 2 minutes
👤 Role: All Staff, Administrators

What you'll learn

  1. How to locate your personal notification settings within the portal.
  2. How to enable automated email alerts so you are instantly informed whenever a customer places a new order.

When should I use this?

Use this guide when you want to stay updated on incoming sales in real time. This is particularly useful for operational staff responsible for managing instant bookings, tracking daily sales volumes, or overseeing immediate order management.

Before you start

  1. Ensure you are logged in to your active Gifted platform account.
  2. Verify that your email address is correctly spelt within your account profile to ensure notifications reach your inbox.

Step-by-step

    1. Access your personal profile settings to manage your account preferences.
    2. Click your profile icon in the top right-hand corner of the page (this will typically display your initials).
    3. Select Profile from the dropdown menu to load your profile overview.
  1. Locate the notification preferences

  2. Toggle and save your order alerts

    1. Locate the New Orders option. If it is currently disabled, the switch will appear greyed out.
    2. Click the toggle switch so it turns green, which indicates that notifications are now enabled.
    3. Click Update Profile to successfully save your updated preferences.
Important Notice: Notification preferences are user-specific. Enabling this setting will only send email alerts to the email address linked to your individual account, not to your entire team.

Best practice

  1. Separate Operational Inbox: If your property receives a high volume of daily sales, consider setting up a dedicated folder or filter in your email client to keep these notifications organised.
  2. Review During Fulfilment Shifts: If you manage in-house postal delivery, ensure that the staff members assigned to fulfilment duties have this notification enabled so they can prepare physical orders promptly.
