Gifted | How to clear your browser cookies and cache

From time to time, our Support team may ask you to clear your browser cache and cookies to help resolve an issue. If requested, please follow the steps below:

Clearing Your Browser Cache

  1. On most browsers, you can quickly clear your cache by pressing Ctrl + F5 on your keyboard (or Command + Shift + R if you're using a Mac).
  2. This will force a full refresh of the page, loading the most up-to-date version from the server.
  3. If you still see issues after this then clear cookies and cache then restart your browser. For help with any other browser, refer to your browser's help section.

How to Clear Cookies and Cache in Internet Explorer

  1. Go to Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Under the General tab, find the Browsing History section and click Delete.
  3. Alternatively, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on your keyboard to open the “Delete Browsing History” window.
  4. In the pop-up window, make sure the following options are selected:
    1. Preserve Favorites website data
    2. Temporary Internet files and website files
    3. Cookies and website data
  5. Click Delete.
  6. Click Apply, then OK.
  7. Close Internet Explorer and reopen it to complete the process.

How to Clear Cookies and Cache in Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and click the Menu icon (three dots in the top right corner).
  2. Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
  3. Under the Clear browsing data section, click Choose what to clear.
  4. Select the checkboxes for:
    1. Cached images and files
    2. Cookies and other site data
  5. Click Clear.
  6. Close the browser and reopen it to complete the process.

How to Clear Cookies and Cache in Firefox

  1. Go to the History menu and select Clear Recent History.
  2. In the Clear All History pop-up, set Time range to clear to Everything.
  3. Check the following options:
  4. Browsing & Download History
  1. Cookies
  2. Cache
  3. Offline Website Data
5. Click Clear Now.
6. Close Firefox and reopen it to complete the process.

How to Clear Cache for the Gifted Site Only in Chrome

  1. Open the Gifted site in your Chrome browser.
  2. Right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect.
  3. In the Developer Tools window, click the Application tab.
  4. In the left sidebar, select Storage (this should be selected by default).
  5. On the right-hand side, make sure all checkboxes are ticked to clear all storage types for the site.
  6. Click 'Clear site data'.
  7. Close the browser and open it again

If this hasn't worked:

  1. Repeat steps 1-4 from above

  2. Expand 'Cookies'

  3. This will give you a list of the currently open URLs in your browser.

  4. Right-click each of these and click 'Clear'

  5. Close the browser and open it again

If Clearing Cache for the Gifted Site Doesn’t Work, Try Clearing All Cookies and Cache in Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to History > History (or press Ctrl + H).
  2. Click Clear browsing data on the left.
  3. Set the Time range to All time.
  4. Select the checkboxes for:
    1. Cookies and other site data
    2. Cached images and files
  5. Click Clear data.
  6. Close and reopen your browser to complete the process.

How to Clear Cookies and Cache on an iPhone

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and select Safari.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Clear History and Website Data.
  4. Confirm by tapping Clear History and Data.

How to Clear Cookies and Cache on an Android Device

  1. Open your preferred browser.
  2. Go to Menu (three dots in the top right corner).
    1. For most browsers: tap More > Settings > Privacy & Security.
    2. For Chrome: tap Settings > Privacy.
  3. Tap the options to clear:
    1. Browsing history
    2. Cache
    3. Cookies and site data
  4. Confirm the action if prompted.
