How to clear site data for the Ecommerce platform specifically without affecting other websites.
Use this guide if you are experiencing unexpected behaviour on the platform, such as pages failing to load, login loops, or recent content updates not appearing on the storefront.
Key Logic:
Browsers store versions of websites (cache) and login information (cookies) to speed up your experience. Sometimes, the browser tries to load an outdated or "broken" version of the site stored in its memory instead of fetching the latest update from our servers. Clearing this data forces the browser to start a fresh session.
Warning: Clearing cookies will likely log you out of the platform and other active websites. Ensure you have your login credentials ready.
Try a Quick Refresh first: Press Ctrl + F5 (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to see if the issue resolves without a full clear.
This method is preferred as it only clears data for the Ecommerce platform, leaving your other open tabs unaffected.
Open the Ecommerce platform in Chrome.
Right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect, or press F12.
In the panel that opens, click the Application tab at the top.
On the left-hand sidebar, select Storage.
Ensure all checkboxes are ticked and click Clear site data.
Restart your browser.
For these browsers, a general history clear is required.
Microsoft Edge:
Click the 3 dots (...) > Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.
Tick Cached images and files and Cookies and other site data.
Click Clear now and restart.
Firefox:
Go to History > Clear Recent History.
Set the time range to Everything.
Tick Cookies, Cache, and Offline Website Data.
Click OK and restart.
Troubleshooting on mobile often requires a device-level setting change.
iPhone (Safari):
Open the Settings app on your home screen.
Scroll down and tap Safari.
Tap Clear History and Website Data and confirm.
Android (Chrome):
Open the Chrome app.
Tap Menu (3 dots) > Settings > Privacy and security.
Tap Clear browsing data.
Select Cookies and site data and Cached images and tap Clear data.
Go to Tools > Internet Options.
In the General tab, under Browsing History, click Delete.
Ensure Temporary internet files, Cookies, and History are selected.
Click Delete, then Apply, and restart.
The Incognito Test: Before clearing your entire browser history, try opening the platform in an Incognito or Private window. If the problem disappears there, it is a definitive sign that your main browser cache or cookies need clearing.
Restart is Essential: Simply clearing the data is often not enough. You must completely close your browser (all windows and tabs) and reopen it for the changes to take full effect and for the platform to establish a new, clean connection.
