Dashboards (overview and analytics)

Dashboards (Overview and Analytics)

⏱ Estimated time: 5 minutes

👤 Role: General Managers, Revenue Managers, Marketing Teams

What you'll learn:

  • How to navigate the platform's real-time reporting interface.

  • The difference between "Today's Overview" and the "Analytics Overview."

  • How to track order volume, revenue, and "In Progress" bookings.

  • How to drill down into specific module performance (Rooms, Spa, etc.).

When should I use this?

The Dashboard is your primary tool for monitoring your property's daily health. Use it to quickly check your morning revenue figures, monitor the success of a newly launched promotion, or investigate if there are any "In Progress" orders that require manual intervention from your team.

Key Logic:

The platform separates data into two distinct views: Real-Time Operations (what is happening right now) and Historical Trends (performance over a selected period). This allows you to switch between managing your immediate daily tasks and performing long-term strategic planning.

Before you start:

  • Ensure you have "Dashboard" or "Reporting" access enabled on your user account.

  • If looking at financial data, remember that "Payments Taken" will reflect the actual cash flow (including refunds), whereas "Order Value" reflects the total sales price.

Step-by-step:

1. Accessing Your Dashboards

The dashboard is the landing page of the platform, providing an instant pulse on your business.

  1. Log in to the Ecommerce platform.

  2. The default page is your Dashboard. If you are navigating from elsewhere, click Dashboard at the top of the left-hand menu.

  3. You will see two primary sections: Today's Overview and Analytics Overview.

2. Today's Overview

This section provides a snapshot of activity for the current calendar day (from 00:00 to the current time).

  • Total Orders Value: The gross value of all orders completed today.

  • Payments Taken: The actual amount processed through Stripe. This may differ from the order value if you have processed refunds today or if you have bookings with deferred payments.

  • Total Orders Placed: The raw count of completed transactions.

  • Orders In Progress: A critical metric showing bookings that were started but not finalized (e.g., failed payment or integration errors).

3. Analytics Overview

This section allows for deeper analysis of trends over time.

  1. Date Selection: Use the date picker to select your desired time range (e.g., Last 7 Days, Last Month, or a custom range).

  2. Data Population: The fields will automatically update to show total revenue and volume for that specific period.

  3. Module Drill-Down: For more granular detail, click the specific buttons for:

  • Rooms: Analyse occupancy trends and rate performance.

  • Spa: View treatment volume and therapist utilization.

  • Offers & Promos: Track the ROI of specific discount codes or landing pages.

Best practice:

Morning Check-In: Make it a habit to check the "Orders in Progress" tile every morning. If this number is high, it may indicate that guests are experiencing payment friction or that your PMS integration has a connection issue that needs troubleshooting.

Important Notice:

Data Latency: While "Today's Overview" updates in real-time, the "Analytics Overview" may occasionally have a slight delay (usually less than one hour) as the system aggregates complex data from multiple modules for your selected date range.
